Tools for journalists reporting from China

The 2008 Beijing Olympics is a significant event in the relationship between China and the media. For the first time in recent history foreign journalists have been granted the right to work freely without interference from Chinese authorities.
To assist journalists painting a full, fair and accurate picture of China during this window of opportunity for reporters, Play the Game for Open Journalism has prepared a package of tools to help journalists tell stories including
- Helpline for journalists - Play the Game for Open Journalism will be operating a helpline for Journalists in China during the Olympics
- China Talking - A discussion forum for all issues surrounding the Beijing Olympics
- China Briefing - Backgrounders and tips on where to find information on China and the Olympics
- How to report in Beijing - Tips and tricks to help journalists find the information they need to report all stories
The project is a joint iniative of the International Federation of Journalists, the world's largest association of journalists, and Play the Game, a non-profit organisation working to strengthen the basic ethical values of sport and encourage democracy, transparency and freedom of expression in world sport.
